Now, three years later, I’m working on my seventh novel, Saving Sophie, and I’m an Amazon best selling author.  I’m very grateful for the support and success I have had.  - Cate

Interview with Cate Beauman

Welcome back to b00k r3vi3ws Ms.Beauman. Its been almost a year since the ‘Special Feature & Interview’ and I would normally ask you why it took you so long to come back. But I know for a fact that you have been busy producing some Amazon Bestsellers! Congratulations!!
Thank you!

So, how have things changed for you in the last one year?
Well, things have been pretty insane! Since our last chat I’ve released Forever Alexa and Waiting For Wren, books four and five in The Bodyguards of L.A. County Series. We’re just about to launch Justice For Abby, the sixth installment in the series. I’ve had so much fun getting to know so many new characters, but life has definitely been busy!

Please tell us about your latest release.
I’m so excited to share Justice For Abby with my readers. We first met Abigail Harris in Forever Alexa when she was abducted into the terrifying world of the Mid-Atlantic Sex Ring. Six months have passed since her rescue but Abby is far from safe. She is the key to toppling the organized crime ring, and they want her dead. Jerrod Quinn, Abby’s hunky yet serious bodyguard, will have his hands full with Abby’s protection while he fights to keep her alive and ignore his feelings for the woman he wants but can’t have.

Can we get some trivia about ‘Justice for Abby’? Some fun facts that may make it easier (or difficult) to wait for the book to release…
- I knew Abby would have her own book moments after I came up with the plotline for Forever Alexa, Abby’s sister’s story.
- Halfway through the second draft of Justice For Abby I felt ‘the tingle’ that I get for my male characters as they develop into ‘real’ people. I’ve got a major crush on serious Jerrod Quinn!
- I cried almost daily while researching the horrid topic of human sex trafficking.

What has been the general response to waiting for Wren?
I’m happy to say that most readers have loved Wren Cooke and Tucker Campbell’s story! I really enjoyed sharing their adventure with everyone. Wren is an intense workaholic with interior design on her mind until the insanely hot, former detective enters the picture. Wren finds herself in need of Tucker’s help when disturbing texts and creepy gifts turn into a race to discover who’s behind the situation that quickly turns deadly.

There is always that ‘someone’ who doesn’t like your book… How do you handle it?
I have to admit that I don’t get all that bothered by those who don’t like my work. Everyone has an opinion and they’re entitled to it. I feel lucky that I have so many readers that do enjoy the stories I love to create and share. As long as I know I’ve produced the best work I possibly can, I can live with those that don’t enjoy it.

Do you think that your favourite authors have somehow influenced your writing style? Who and How?
Definitely! I love Nora Roberts. She alone got me hooked on reading more than a decade ago. She’s one heck of a word artist and I admire her style greatly. Her work ethic and drive is top-notch. I’ve always said I want to be Nora when I grow up and I mean it!

What’s brewing?
I’ve just started my follow up research for the seventh story in The Bodyguards of L.A. County Series, Saving Sophie. Sophie Burke is in trouble and handsome, broody Stone McCabe is just the man to help...whether he wants to or not… I’m really looking forward to sharing Stone and Sophie’s adventure early this fall.

Anything that you would like to say to those who are contemplating on whether to pick up your books or not?
I’m always hopeful new readers will give Ethan Cooke Security and his crew a try. There’s never a dull moment with The Bodyguards of L.A. County!

Any message for your fans?
Finally, Abby’s story is here! I hope you enjoy Abby and Jerrod as much as I loved telling their tale.

Fashion designer Abigail Harris has been rescued, but her nightmare is far from over. Determined to put her harrowing ordeal behind her and move on, she struggles to pick up the pieces of her life while eluding the men who want her dead.

The Mid-Atlantic Sex Ring is in ruins after Abby’s interviews with the police.  The organization is eager to exact their revenge before her testimony dismantles the multi-million dollar operation for good.

Abby’s safety rests in the hands of former US Marshal, Jerrod Quinn.  Serious-minded and obsessed with protocol, Ethan Cooke Security’s newest agent finds himself dealing with more than he bargains for when he agrees to take on his beautiful, free-spirited client.

As the trial date nears, Abby’s case takes a dangerous turn.  Abby and Jerrod soon discover themselves in a situation neither of them expect while Jerrod fights to stop the ring from silencing Abby once and for all.
