Interview with the Author:

When did you first realize that you wanted to be a writer/ a storyteller?
As a reader, my first novel was “I too had a love story”. That story left incredible impression on me. That was the time, when I realized, even I wanted to pen down stories. I wanted to narrate something which people could connect instantly with. The kind of storytelling I enjoy is where people can imagine the scene as the story goes by, and hence I decided to write the story accordingly. I started building up the points. As I moved ahead, I could see the story, narrating the incidents and one day I concluded the story.

What inspires you to write?
Urge to narrate a story and my own feeling. Whenever I want to write, I write. If I am happy, I write. If I am sad, I write. So my own senses inspire me to write.

How did you come up with the idea for your current story?
e-love* *Terms & Conditions applied revolves around love and technology.  I picked up the story after coming across one of such incidents. Moreover, we find that because of social media, people meet, fall in love and take forward their relationship. However, most of the relationships don’t survive and finally, it ends up hurting both the persons involved. So I chose this story to write down, as it is pretty much relevant in current times and people can connect to it easily.

Are there some stories tucked away in some drawer that was written before and never saw the light of the day?
No. This is my first story and I am happy that now it’s in front of people.

Tell us about your writing process.
My writing process…first I write down all the points which I need to cover in my story. Then I build up the story based on those points. I don’t write daily, it’s usually twice or thrice in a week. When I lack words, I skip writing and try to divert my mind. Once I am done with the draft version of the book, I read it again and edit wherever I feel it’s required. Once I am done with my editing, I give the draft book for review and based on review I again edit it.

What is your favorite scene in the book? Why?
My favorite scene in the book is when Ankit proposed Akshi. Its visualization gave   me goosebumps and it still does. I kept it simple, as it happens in real life. I remember, it took almost a day to create the scene and pen it down.

Did any of your characters inherit some of your own quirks?
I guess, Ankit in book inherits some of the characteristics of me. The character showcases some qualities which I do possess in my real life like even I like to be loved and cared similar to Ankit liking it in the book, when Akshi used to pamper him. Negative qualities which I possess are getting angry and irritated. Even Ankit in book have similar negative qualities. So to an extent Ankit in book represents me.

Do you read? Who are your favorite authors and how have they influenced your writing style?
Yea, I do read. (It is the reader in me, which has inspired the writer in me). I like novels written by Preeti Shenoy and Ravinder Singh. I prefer Indian writer’s work and their works have influenced me at several levels. Their writing teaches me the skill of holding the interest of readers. I read the book and highlight all the lines, which I like. Once I am done with reading, I read all those lines again and try to learn out of those lines.

What is the best piece of advice you have received, as a writer, till date?
“Write to narrate a story, not to sell a story” the only advice I have received and the best one till date.

What is the best piece of advice you would give to someone that wants to get into writing?
Well as of now, I am not in any position to advice anyone because even my journey to become a writer has just started. To advice someone, one has to be good enough and experienced, I feel I lack that experience.

What would be the Dream Cast for you book if it was to be turned into a movie?
Dream cast..I would love to see Deepika Padukone and Ranbir Kapoor in the movie. I love them as a couple onscreen and would like to see them playing role of Ankit and Akshi.

If you were to be stranded on the famous deserted island, what three things would you carry?
First would be my camera as I love photography, my iPod, as I love music and a diary so that I can inscribe my thoughts.

How do you spend your free time? Do you have a favorite place to go and unwind?
I have no such place. I do anything like watching movie, listening songs, photography. Most of the time, I end up reading novels and watching movies.

Can you share with us something off your bucket list?
Yeah, I have couple of things in my bucket list. One of them is becoming a motivational speaker and second to become a photographer and also to roam around the entire world, capturing the scenes in camera.

Tell us three fun facts about yourself.
Three fun facts…hahaha…I guess there is only one fun fact (I think so)
- I smile while dozing off. My brother told me.

What do you have in store next for your readers?
I have started working on my second book which is again going to be a fictional –romance novel. It’ll take some time as I have just started plotting the points. I hope to finish it off as soon as possible and present it to the readers.

Is there anything else you’d like to share with your readers?
First of all I am thankful to Deb for giving me a chance to put my thoughts in front of the readers. For readers, e-love* *Terms & Conditions applied is my debut book.
