Grace and Ashton cohost Battle of the Sexes, a radio program that is presented in the he-said/she-said format and deals with a varied range of topics and issues. Their banter and debates have long since interested the listeners who often wonder if they are a real life couple or not. But with the chance of the show getting cancelled, Grace and Ashton need to step up their game. When a charity organization approaches them and proposes that the two of them kiss for a fund raiser, it is a twofold opportunity for the duo. On one hand they could help raise a lot of money for underprivileged children and on the other hand it could also help raise their show to a different level. But wait, it could be a threefold opportunity – Kissing each other for the charity could also lead them to face the chemistry between them. They may be polar opposite of each other, but there is no denying that there is chemistry between them. Will they finally acknowledge it? And what of Grace’s boyfriend – Phillip?
There’s a saying that opposites attract. It is not just a saying – but a reality in Grace and Ashton’s case. Grace comes across as this strong, independent, headstrong girl who how to manage social networking and also have fun. But slowly that image falls apart as we see that even though she is a confident woman in her professional life, she can be shallow and clueless in her personal life. Ashton on the other hand couldn’t care less about social media. He is an outdoorsy fun loving guy and he sure knows how to get under Grace’s skin! Together they do make a formidable team and the chemistry between them is so much fun, especially when they get into one of their showdowns.
I loved the fact that the author included today’s social media frenzy in her book. It is something that everyone of this generation will understand and enjoy. The author’s language and the narration were easygoing and engaging. Lot of sass, drama and sizzling chemistry kept the book going. And while the plot was very much predictable, it did not dampen my enthusiasm of reading it.
The book made for a really light and entertaining read.
Author Sheralyn Pratt
Sheralyn's first job was as a karate instructor, which taught her that practice does not make perfect; practice makes habit--good or bad. Martial arts also taught Sheralyn that a master is simply a person who can effortlessly do all the actions a beginner finds difficult or maybe even impossible. Sheralyn has worked in many fields throughout her life, but her 12 years as a karate instructor have shaped how she does everything, including writing and mentoring. She likes to keep things light and fun, but she's also aware that life is journey and that if you're going to buy a book, your life should better for it. So, fiction or nonfiction, know that each of Sheralyn's books are designed to take you to a new place. Maybe that book is designed to help you escape for a few hours, or maybe it's a book designed to teach you a new skill. Either way, Sheralyn hopes it's unforgettable...in a good way. ;)
Oh, this sounds like a fun read. Social media is a huge part of most people's lives currently.
ReplyDeleteI don't mind predictable as long as it keeps me interested in the story. Thank you for sharing your honest thoughts, Debdatta. :)
