#GuestPost :: The Holidays on Phantasma by Andrea Buginsky

Halli is a shy, young dwarf who has no idea of her true calling. When the evil Prince Gastle sets out to detroy the world of Phantasma, Queen Laurali of the Elves comes to tell Halli she’s a Holy Paladin with the power to heal, and will join The Chosen, a group of brave warriors being sent to defeat the evil beast and save Phantasma. Will Halli be accepted by her group, and be able to keep them alive through their adventures? Will the evil Prince Gastle be defeated, freeing Phantasma from his destruction? Only time will tell.

During a time of celebration for The Chosen, a mysterious force appears on Phantasma, threatening to destroy Nature and all of her creatures. Will The Chosen find and defeat this force, and save Nature before it's too late?

The holidays are celebrated a little differently on Phantasma. They don’t have Christmas, Hanukkah, and Kwanza. They celebrate the Winter Solstice. Ever since the scare of last winter’s Solstice, the residents and creatures of Phantasma have decided to get together and celebrate Nature every year as she prepares for the Solstice.

Each fall, as Nature heads to the North to prepare for the Solstice, everyone lights a candle for her to show her the way. They also light incense to ward off evil beings. Some of the residents sing. Others play the liu, bagpipes, or drum. Everyone gathers up the beautiful fall leaves and make wreathes out of them to hang on their doors.

Winter Solstice is a very special occasion on Phantasma. It’s a time of rebirth and renewal. The animals take their long winter naps, the Shamans and Priests pray for a fruitful spring to be born out of the Winter, and the children enjoy playing in the snow. Everyone gathers together for a big feast and enjoys each other’s company.

For Phantasma, Winter Solstice is as important as the holiday season is to us. We gather together with our friends and family and enjoy reminiscing over the past year’s highlights, spending time together, and celebrating our traditions.

Here’s wishing you and your family a very happy holiday season from everyone at Andi’s Realm and on Phantasma.

You can read all about last Winter Solstice’s scare in “Nature’s Unbalance: The Chosen,” available from Solstice Publishing and eBook vendors, now on sale for 99 cents through the holidays.
Please feel free to visit me anytime at Andi’s Realm. I’ll put up some cocoa and bake cookies.

Growing up with heart disease can be difficult, but it does not always have to alter your life course. MY OPEN HEART is written for young adults growing up with heart disease. It's meant to inspire them to chase their dreams, to show that they are not alone, and, perhaps, to help guide them through the maze of life with heart disease. Parents of children with heart disease and other chronic illnesses will find support and inspiration within this true story. We are not alone.
