#Interview :: Anamika Mishra, #Author of Too Hard to Handle

It started when Anamika was in class 6 and while reading Heide by Johanna Spyri she went to her mother and told her that she wants to write a novel like that one. That was when the writing skill spring up in her. While Writing has been her first love, second is travelling and photography.

Anamika is a girl who is known for strong opinions and the passionate defense of her beliefs. She is an open minded & fun loving person who believes true happiness is the key to a successful and content life. Spreading smiles and keeping a positive attitude towards life could help you get over any hurdles you come across in life, are her beliefs. In her spare time, she loves to scribble her diary, play with her pet, travel and click photographs. She is an independent writer and a professional lifestyle & travel blogger.

Being an animal lover, she is also a member of 'People For Animals' NGO.

She was born on 31 December and currently lives in India. Too Hard to Handle is her Debut novel which was published on 1 Sept 2013. She also has written many short stories amongst which, Hallwey's Halloween and The Magical Golden Rose are the most popular ones.

What inspires you to write?
Inspiration is all around!! I get inspired by day to day happenings around me. People struggling to get jobs, people missing their families, falling in love for the first time, getting dumped, failing in exam, going for shopping, etc. The list is endless. 

What is your favorite scene in the book? Why?
In Too hard to handle, Vivaan’s and Anushree’s marriage is arranged by their parents. I love the scene when Vivaan proposes Anushree for marriage at their first meeting, by sitting on his knees and holding her hand. This is just like a dream to any girl. I mean, Yeah!! Every girl dreams that her lover should propose her like that!! 

Did any of your characters inherit some of your own quirks?
No!! They all are totally different from me. The only thing that matches with me is Anushree’s desire of becoming a writer!! 

What is your usual writing routine?
I am a full time writer. I contribute for various magazines and ezines. I have my own blog to maintain. So, usually write in 2 shifts. Morning to evening I write for magazines and my blog and at night, I write my novels. 

What is the best piece of advice you have received, as a writer, till date?
It was from my mom. When she finished reading Too hard to handle, she came to me and said that I should never leave writing!! She said that I should keep the determination and zeal up with me, and nothing would then stop me from achieving the success!! 

What is the best piece of advice you would give to someone that wants to get into writing?
All I want to advise is, be determined, never be afraid of failures and keep lots of patience!! Writing career is not an easy one. But with hard work and determination in heart, nothing is impossible to achieve. 

What would be the Dream Cast for you book if it was to be turned into a movie?
Ahh!! This is an interesting question. Well, I will cast Shahrukh Khan and Shahid kapoor for my movie, because I love them a lot!!

If you were to be stranded on the famous deserted island, what three things would you carry?
I will carry a pen, a diary and my camera. 

How do you spend your free time? Do you have a favorite place to go and unwind?
I go for shopping usually when I am free. I can shop for hours and hours. Apart from that, every month or two, I go off to Nainital for a short escape. It’s like my second home!!

Tell us three fun facts about yourself.
#1- I go for shopping, when I feel upset or low (My friends think it’s a fun fact)
#2- I am a soft-drink addict. I always carry a pet bottle of Pepsi, thumbs up or Limca in my bag.
#3- I talk a lot!! 

What do you have in store next for your readers?
Well, I am coming up with my next novel with Jaico Publishers. I would reveal more details very soon.
