#BookReview :: Feral (Many Lives Spinoff #1) by Laxmi Hariharan

An alternate cover edition can be found here.

He was her destination. She just didn't know it.

When Maya leaves Luke to go in search of her blood family, nothing prepares her for the secrets she uncovers about herself.

An intense, shifter romance, set in Bombay. A standalone novella in the Many Lives universe.

Goodreads I Amazon

Feral is a novella that looks at Maya’s life. Set in the same world as that of Ruby Iyer, Maya’s story is set in the next generation timeline.

Maya has quite never felt ‘at home’ with her family. She always feels like an outsider with her people even though she has her mother and Luke to love her and care for her. After a heated conversation with her mother, Maya sets upon to discover her true identity where she meets Jai and is instantly attracted to this stranger. With Luke waiting for her back at home, will Maya find the answers that she is looking for? And the biggest question whether she will like what she finds!

The thing with novellas is that I always find them to be too short. But Laxmi Hariharan sure knows how to pack a punch within those short few pages. With her crisp writing style and quirky characters, she mesmerizes her readers and Feral is no exception. This story had a twist coming that I did not spot until just before the big revelation. The touch of paranormal adds to the story. The only drawback is that the readers will have to be familiar with the Ruby Iyer Universe to be able to understand and enjoy this story.
