An Interview with the Author:

When did you first realize that you wanted to be a writer/ a storyteller?
Ans – Always wanted to write something from my childhood. Infact, since I was in 8th 9th standard I used to express my opinion, views in the form of letters to editors. Lot of my childhood writings had been published in children books like chandamama and Nandan

What inspires you to write?
Day to Day incidents, my conversations with people inspires me to write. Eg- If you see Superwomen was inspired by my experience while starting own startup ghoomophiro.

How did you come up with the idea for your current story?
My latest book Supercouples is about the stories of couples who are cofounders in their existing startup. The inspiration behind this book was my curiosity to understand how the relationships move when two people decide to work on same project especially in today’s world when relationships are taking backseat. The trend was interesting, get to see some common tips that couples shared for their successful enterprise.

Are there some stories tucked away in some drawer that was written before and never saw the light of the day?
Yes, there are many.. I have been associated with NGOs and crisis intervention centre, and many of my stories are about my interaction with them.

Tell us about your writing process.
I usually decides on a theme, then genre and then develop  a broad outline structure of the same.. Slowly I start filling up in between those placeholders.

What is your favorite scene in the book? Why?
What I liked while penning down these experiences is the candid responses of these couples, who opened up and shared their day to day quirks to keep a balance between their personal and professional life

Did any of your characters inherit some of your own quirks?
Supercouples being a non-fiction and collection of real life stories, each of the couple was unique. Their challenges to be successful in startup ecosystem might be similar but their ways to come out was unique.

What is your most interesting writing quirk?
Based on the theme of the writing you plan, make a high level outline and move forward to work towards it.

Do you read? Who are your favourite authors and how have they influenced your writing style?
I am an avid reader. I like reading Sudha Murthy, Paulo Caleho and books about making of big enterprises like a google story.. What I liked in all these books is the inspiration shared in simple lucid language.

What is the best piece of advice you have received, as a writer, till date?
Take writing as a regular work and do not get hassled when you go through writer’s block..

What is the best piece of advice you would give to someone that wants to get into writing?
Never get dissapointed by rejections from publishers. Work on the feedback, introspect and start it all over again.

If you were to be stranded on the famous deserted island, what three things would you carry?
Laptop,  Camera and sunscreen :)

How do you spend your free time? Do you have a favorite place to go and unwind?

About the Book:
Inspiring Stories of Couple-preneurs
In an era booming with the ‘Start-up’ trend and loving this new attitude of breaking boundaries and conventions of a career, one also faces the challenge of being able to partner up with the right people. In lieu of reliable and trustworthy partners, real life couples in relationships have started exploring the idea of partnering up in business too!
Speaking to various couple-preneurs, one realizes that the myth about mixing work and home is just as misty as the one about needing a stable and conventional job for an ambitious career. These dynamic start-ups break stereotypes and cover a varied range of services: e-commerce, innovative gifts, eco-friendly products, health care solutions, social responsibility ventures, event management, digital solutions and many others.
SuperCouples brings out such lovely stories of enterprising couples. After all, when great minds come together to produce something built on conjoined dreams, the result is eminently successful, lucrative and deeply satisfying.
