If you are a history fan, and also enjoy a little drama, or if you would like to learn about both sides of the story of Martin Luther, the great Protestant reformer,  and also about its anti-Semitic works, or if you are just curious to learn how a movement, no matter how pure in its intention, could end up with unimaginable results, then you are the target audience of The Reformer, a screenplay based on the life of Martin Luther.

This story is in a new genre that I would like to call, Dramatized Documentary; It aims to be both entertaining, and yet educational, hopefully to raise your curiosity to do some further readings around the subject. To serve its educational goal, the monologues are verbatim copies from Luther's books, articles, and sermons. This way you can google the quotes and find the entire article for further studies. Preserving historical accuracy has been the chief goal in formulating conversations missing from recorded history. To serve the goal of being entertaining, the events are dramatized to create suspense, surprise, twist, etc. which are    key to have an entertaining experience. In fact, the book is in a screenplay format, in that it pictures the scenes as if you would be watching a movie that will be made based on the story.

Last but not least, since the book touches a sensitive topic, the book refrains from taking any sides; it simply present the historical facts and let the reader picks its own take and decide which historian she would side with.

About the Book:

What Nazi Germany did to the Jews did not happen overnight. Although the historians differ on the origin, some argue that the foundation for it was built by the writings and deeds of perhaps the most influential reformer of the millennium, Martin Luther. This screenplay is a journey through his life to give us historical      facts as well as insights into his reformation. Whether or not the events of his lifetime could have influenced the Holocaust is left for the listener to decide. The  monologues are verbatim copies from Luther's books, articles, and sermons. Preserving historical accuracy has been the chief goal in formulating conversations missing from recorded history.
