Hi, my name is Kayelle Allen, and I write science fiction and space opera with characters you can relate to in worlds you'd never imagine.
Growing up, people would read things I wrote and tell me I had a way with words. When I started writing short stories as gifts for friends, they told me I should write a book. Finally, I decided to go for it. I've published over a dozen books since and have plenty more coming.
It follows that I love to read. Whenever I get the chance, I'm perusing bookstores or an online catalog of some type. Reading is a favorite pastime and I think that's true of most writers. We catch inspiration in the smallest things. Which is why I cruise around book fairs. They're a great spot to find something new to read.

There you have it. A curated list of sci-fi book fairs you can cruise through and find good books. You'll see some authors are in more than one book fair. These are writers who are looking for new readers, and this is both a cost-effective way to get the word out and also a great opportunity to share friends' books with their readers.
Unlike some businesses, writers are not in competition with one another. Of course we'd all like to hit the number one spot on a best-seller list, but the point is, we can't possibly write fast enough to keep our readers busy reading only our books. The smart thing is to show our readers where else they can find a good story. That way, they'll come back to us and see what's new. Win/win.
