Now Presenting:
*** SPECIAL FEATURE - May'13 ***

This month I am lucky to have Ms.Eileen Harris as my Special Feature Author! She is one of the authors responsible for my interest in Indie Books and Authors... So please help me welcome her heartily!

About the Author
I live in the high desert of Mohave County, Arizona. My husband and I live off the grid, meaning we make our own electricity.  We do this with solar panels, batteries, and a back-up generator. (One of these days I'll tell you how different that is from what I expected.) We also have our own well for water. We built our house here some time ago so we've become accustomed to the quiet, fresh air, and wide open spaces.  Except in July and August when it's way too hot, it feels like home. We share our space with a dog, three cats, and some chickens. We raised a few ostrich and emu once, but they were a lot more trouble than fun.  Besides gardening, traveling and lots of other hobbies, I write. Well, actually I write and then make time for the rest.

Eileen's Books

Paul and Louise Weston are being attacked, their peaceful lifestyle threatened. They can run or they can fight back and try to preserve what they have worked so long to achieve. Fueled by a strong sense of justice, they first stand up for themselves, but quickly the stakes become higher, much higher. Who are these people invading their lives, and what is the strange object they are looking for? Will the mysterious Shadow Wolves be able to help them find the answers in time?

Antique Magic, is the first in a series about Alicia Trent. She owns an antique store in Scottsdale, Arizona, and has a knack of getting involved with mystery and murder in fascinating environments. Occasionally a little magic occurs.

This second book in the series takes the reader further into the life of Alicia Trent and her friends. Magic, forgery, betrayal, and fabulous jewels surround Alicia as she struggles to find the reason for her friend's death.

A vacation becomes complicated by murder, discovery, and friendship. Danger lurks in too many directions. Alicia and her friends will have to stay alive and sort through the clues carefully if they want to save an innocent friend and prevent the destruction of an historic treasure.

While the almost castle crumbles around them, Alicia desperately searches for the answers she wants and needs. Every creepy room demands a thorough search. Someone is trying to kill her, and she doesn't even know why, let alone, who. Each room she searches is a challenge and each is either fascinating or horrifying. The huge cat now follows her everywhere, even into closed rooms. If she can discover his secret before one of the murder attempts succeeds, maybe she can find the answers she needs.

  2. Sounds like an interesting lifestyle. Does it help you in avoiding distractions while writing? Have you cut back on the amount of electronics you have or does the solar power handle everything you throw at it?

    1. I think living off the grid creates more distractions than it prevents. But, no, we haven't cut back on the things we use that require electricity. Sometimes the system handles, "everything we throw at it," but sometimes it refuses to cooperate. Between the solar panels that store power in the batteries and the generator for backup when the sun doesn't do the job we come close to having the same amount of electrical power most city dwellers have. Thanks for being curious. Eileen

  3. Thanks for the giveaway. I know you said you'd tell us about it some time, but I'd love to hear how it is living generating your own electricity. Thanks for sharing.
