For the Love of Alpha Males with Sensual Sensitivity

My love of a sexy alpha male is one helluva obsession of a lovable badass who melts my heart and other parts of me!  I’m a sucker for a strong man who answers to no one but is willing to go through hell and back for the girl who owns his heart and soul.  My alphas must have enough self-assurance to be fearless in showing their sensitive sides along with their panty-smoldering toughness.

I loved creating the men in my novels and had a blast writing Breck’s POV in Ash to Steele, but the character who will always own my heart and my soul is Kas, from The Rain Trilogy.  He is my idea of the perfect man!  Thinking of Kas versus Breck is so hard for me because I love them both in such different ways.  Breck is definitely a cocky, tattooed, ‘I’ll-kick-your-ass-if-you-mess-with-me-or-someone-I-love’ kind of bad boy, but he has a heart of gold buried underneath his arrogant exterior.  Kas can also kick some serious ass; he’s protective to the point of bossy, and he will do anything to keep his girl safe.  In a fight, I honestly don’t know which one would win with Breck’s street fighting past, but I’m leaning towards Kas, with his FBI and martial arts skills.  Kas wins in the sensual sensitivity category with how tender he is with Raina and her abusive history, showing her that not every man hits.  Below is an excerpt from Saving Rain, showing some of Kas’ sexy sensitive side.

He focuses on reining in his rage, not wanting to scare her any more than she already is.  He sits back on his heels, giving her some space, before he tells her in as much of a calming tone as he can manage at the moment, “You will find out that I’m not like them.  I won’t punish you for having an accident and I won’t punish you when you do something wrong or something I don’t like.”  He looks her squarely in the eyes and, with as much reassurance as he can possibly fit into a glance, he tells her, “I don’t hit, darlin’.”

Breck has his sensitive moments that make his heart of gold shine as well, especially when it comes to Emma. Those two try like hell to hate each other at first, but it’s impossible to hate the person who consumes your soul.  When Emma is hurt, Breck’s fierce protectiveness is unleashed right along with his tender heart.

Her words are muffled against my shirt, but her lips pressed against the cotton fabric doesn’t do anything to hinder the sorrow in her voice, “It’s not your job to protect me.  You shouldn’t have come.”

Gently pushing her to where I can see her beautiful eyes, I shake my head in disbelief, “Nothing in hell could have kept me from coming to you tonight, Emma.”

The agony in her eyes bleeds my soul.  A small tear slides down her cheek and she goes to wipe it away, embarrassment and sorrow stripping the light that usually shines so brightly in her eyes.  For that alone, the man should die.  Pulling her back into my arms, I hold her as if the flow of the blood in my veins depends on her touch.  When her phone died, so did I.  Without her, I’m nothing.  When I first realized that truth, it made me feel weak and ashamed at how strongly I need her.  Now, I have no shame left.  I need Emma like I need to breathe.  She is my air.  It’s as simple as that.

I started reading romance in high school, but I adored love stories from as long as I can remember.  My heart has fluttered thousands of times with all the tough, sweet alphas I’ve read from amazing authors over the years.  Becoming a writer and creating my own strong, lovable men is completely surreal.  I hope readers fall in love with the characters as much as I did writing them.

Emma
Who I am and all I believe is marred with just one glance into angry, steel blue eyes. He seems to control my air, my ability to breathe. He makes me crave everything I know is a sin. Pure becomes tainted and lines are blurred. It's my fault; I'm the one who isn't strong enough. I've been damaged...broken. Breck's words haunt me...'There's a consequence for every choice you make.'
Breck
I've had so many women I can't even remember over half of their names, but none of them are mine; I make damn sure of that. I take what I desire and never look back. I don't need or want anyone, ever...not until I met Emma. Those eyes bore into what's left of my soul and her touch sears me, weakens me. I want to hate her for that. She is my ruin... my sweetest hell.

Raina has tried to forget her past, forget the pain, but when she finds herself staring straight into the fury blazing in her ex-boyfriend's eyes, her dark past comes rushing back. Furious with herself for actually having chosen someone like her father, she uses that anger to her advantage and fights for her life...and for her future that she prays will involve the man she can't seem to get out of her head. Kas is a natural leader, a fierce fighter, the type of man you send in when you need to get the job done. He is a courageous hero who is used to risking his own life to save others, but can he save the one who has captured his heart from her horrific past and the men who are hell-bent on destroying her? As Kas and Raina try to navigate through the twists and turns of a deviously intelligent human trafficking group, they find solace in each other's arms. Can they infiltrate the trafficker's tight ring, saving the innocent lives from imminent danger before it's too late?
